At Panel Literature Association, we bring together writers, artists, photographers, editors, translators, researchers, curators, and independent cultural workers interested in literature, visual culture, storytelling, and contemporary artistic practices.

Our community grew around Panel, an independent literary magazine founded in Budapest. Today, the magazine continues primarily as Panel Online, while the printed edition appears on special occasions and through selected projects.

Alongside publishing, we organize workshops, exhibitions, readings, discussions, book launches, and multidisciplinary cultural events. We also develop collaborative book projects such as "If We're Talking Budapest", "Narratives of Budapest" and "Narratives of Hungary".

Budapest has always been one of the main sources of inspiration for our work, but in recent years, our focus has expanded beyond the capital.

Many of our projects are deeply connected to place. We are interested in how people relate to the environments they inhabit, how local narratives are formed, and how literature, art, and documentary practices can preserve and reinterpret everyday experiences.

Our audience is international, creative, and culturally engaged — readers, artists, researchers, and curious travelers interested in independent publishing, contemporary culture, and new perspectives on Central and Eastern Europe.
