Masha Kamenetskaya

Masha Kamenetskaya, a publisher and manager at the Panel Literature Association, is dedicated to amplifying the voices of writers based in the region who create in English. As a writer herself, Masha brings firsthand experience of the journey from draft to publication, particularly for those writing in English as a second language.

Her short stories have appeared in a range of publications, including Verses of Silence, Flying Ketchup Press (Tales from the Dream Zone anthology), 45 Magazine Women’s Literary Journal, Budapest Local, The Plaza Prizes anthology, If We’re Talking Budapest, and more. Her story collection On the Set was published by Duck Lake Books (USA) in 2020.

"As a European writer working in a non-native language, I understand the persistence it takes to move from an idea to the publication. Writing in English as a second language brings challenges—but also gives opportunities. I’m here to help you shape your story, overcome obstacles, and navigate the submission process with confidence. Together, we’ll craft a strategy to bring your work to the world."

“I offer editing and proofreading services for any kind of writing. I started with editing my cousin’s 150 page biomedical doctoral thesis and most recently edited Panel’s book, Narratives of Budapest. I take great care to maintain the voice of the author while making sure the piece is easy to read and has a good flow. I believe that any topic can be written about well, if one treats one’s message and one’s audience with respect.”
