Panel Practices

Love is in the air!

For the first time, the writers, poets, artists, and editors of Panel are coming together to share their craft.

This February and March 2026, we are excited to host our first workshop series, Panel Practices.  This time, our theme is love.

Love for a place. For a language. For craft. For people.

The workshop by Olga Lo, Drawing as a Way to Love a Place, will take place over two days. The first day will be held in a café and will focus on introductory notes and preparation. Participants will learn how to access drawing even without prior experience and will create a preparatory sketchbook for the second day. On day two, participants will put their new skills into practice in an urban setting, stopping to notice and capture the atmosphere of a metro station, ruin bar, library, or similar space. The emphasis will be on slowing down, observing closely, and forming an emotional connection with a place.

Patrycja Rup, in partnership with Arina Husky, will host a poetry reading on the theme of love. The evening will feature four authors, accompanied by live music, for an intimate exploration of language, sound, and feeling.

Masha Kamenetskaya will host a two-day course on Writing About Love in a Second Language. Spanning six hours (three per day), the course will explore the nuances of writing in a second language, with a focus on finding your voice, and your place.

In Tech + Love = New Possibilities, Maria Gyarmati invites participants to explore how love letters can be reimagined in the 21st century. This workshop looks at how modern tools—AI, creative apps, digital crafts, and accessible maker technologies—can support everyday life and deepen our relationships. Participants will reflect on how technology can make routines gentler and connections more intentional, then create personalized gifts, messages, or objects for the people they care about.

Rachel Velsher will host a three-hour workshop titled Loving Your Craft, focused on the art and science of proofreading and editing. This session approaches editing as an act of care—one that strengthens clarity, voice, and confidence in your work.

All workshops will be held in English throughout February and March, in various locations around Budapest.

Participation is limited and donation-based, with a minimum contribution, in order to keep the series accessible and community-oriented.

We will share individual announcements for each workshop with full details soon.
We hope you’ll join us.

From Panel,
With love
