Budapest has a rich history of underground movements dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These subcultures served as a haven for artists, intellectuals, and rebels seeking to challenge societal norms and embrace alternative lifestyles. "Legend of Ethereal Budapest" pays homage to these historical movements, drawing inspiration from their revolutionary spirit and artistic innovation.
The event gains a deeper sense of connection to the city's past, enriching the experience for both artists and visitors alike. It allows participants to transcend time and space, embracing the echoes of bygone eras while forging new legends that resonate in the hearts of all who partake in this enchanting artistic journey.
The program of the daytime art festival includes:
? launch of issue 11 of Panel magazine (readings);
?poetry writing workshop inspired on artworks about Budapest (host -- Alexa Fermeglia);
?free art workshop (host - Olga Lo);
?dance performance (producer - Maria Gyarmati);
?AR portal - transporting participants to a virtual dimension where they can interact with digital art elements in real-world surroundings (producer - Maria Gyarmati);
?sound installation: memories from invisible places: a self-guided tour through non-existing places from past Budapest, which survived only in the memories of the citizens and visitors (producer - Patrycja Rup);
?interactive improv performance (producer -- Karyn Dietrich).
And so much more.
Producers and contributors of the event - multimedia artists, writers, poets and cultural managers of various backgrounds that have been living and working in Budapest.
